Our Philosophy

A Simple Belief: Treat the Whole Veteran

Mental health, substance use, physical health, relationships, housing, work, and the transition to civilian life can all affect a veteran’s well-being. Effective treatment starts by understanding the whole picture.

At Bold Steps Behavioral Health, veterans can receive support for mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring concerns. Our team works with veterans experiencing challenges such as PTSD and trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, chronic pain, family stress, and difficulty adjusting to civilian life.

Our approach goes beyond what happens during treatment sessions. Through veteran-focused care coordination, we also help veterans navigate appropriate VA and community-based programs, resources, benefits, and providers based on their individual needs and eligibility.

A Continuum of Care

The Way Veterans Access Healthcare Is Changing

Today, many eligible veterans receive care not only through their local VA Medical Center or Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, but also through the VA’s Community Care Network (CCN). As access to community-based care expands, providers who understand both the VA system and community healthcare can play an important role in helping veterans access appropriate treatment and support.

Bold Steps Behavioral Health is part of this broader continuum of care. Our role extends beyond providing evidence-based behavioral health treatment. We have invested in veteran-focused care coordination, specialized training, partnerships, and experienced team members who can help veterans navigate services across VA and community systems.

Our mission is to help veterans address the challenges standing between them and healthy, meaningful, and productive lives.

Why Bold Steps Recovery

The Difference

Effective treatment extends beyond the counseling session

Veterans benefit when behavioral healthcare, medical care, housing, benefits navigation, and community support work toward a common goal.

At Bold Steps Behavioral Health, treatment begins with the reason you’re seeking help, whether that’s PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use, or a combination of concerns. From there, our team looks at the larger picture and helps coordinate appropriate support across the VA and community when additional services are needed.

The goal isn’t simply to treat a diagnosis. It’s to help each veteran build greater stability, improve their quality of life, and move forward with the support they need.
