Lasting recovery takes more than treating substance use. Our Veteran Recovery Program pairs evidence-based SUD treatment with hands-on care coordination across the VA and community - so you get the right service at the right time.
Many veterans entering treatment are also navigating challenges that reach far beyond substance use. Recovery has to meet all of them.
At Bold Steps Recovery, we understand that successful recovery for veterans requires far more than treating substance use alone. Many veterans entering treatment are also living with PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, housing instability, medical conditions, legal issues, family stress, and the weight of the transition to civilian life.
That's why our Veteran Recovery Program is built around a single philosophy - treat the whole veteran. We deliver proven substance use disorder treatment while helping veterans access and navigate VA and community-based programs, resources, benefits, and providers through a coordinated-care approach built for long-term recovery.
Today, many eligible veterans receive care not only through their local VA Medical Center or Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, but also through the VA's Community Care Network (CCN). As access to community-based care expands, providers who understand both the VA system and the community healthcare system are uniquely positioned to help veterans recover successfully.
Bold Steps Recovery is proud to be part of this continuum. Lasting recovery often depends on connecting veterans with the right service at the right time - not simply on providing excellent addiction treatment. We've invested in becoming Veteran Care Coordinators as well as SUD treatment providers: partnering with veteran-service training agencies and bringing on team members and consultants with proven, award-winning careers as former VA community partners.
Recovery often requires coordination across many healthcare disciplines and human services. Based on each veteran's needs and eligibility, our team helps connect veterans to both VA and community-based resources - including:
VA Medical Centers and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics.
Connecting veterans to approved VA CCN providers.
Medical providers across primary and specialty care.
Behavioral health and psychiatric services.
The VA's HCHV program for veterans facing homelessness.
The VA's GPD transitional housing programs.
Supportive housing and Services for Veteran Families.
Veterans Justice Outreach and County Treatment Courts.
The VA's employment & education readiness program.
VFW, AMVETS, The American Legion, NCHV, and more.

In practice todayBold Steps has begun the process of becoming a Veteran Ready Organization - building a program where veterans feel understood, respected, and supported at every stage of recovery.
In progressVeteran-specific services are a core, expanding part of who we are - with continued investment in training, partnerships, and coordinators as the program grows.
ExpandingOur mission is not simply helping veterans get clean and sober - it is helping them rebuild healthy, meaningful, and productive lives.
Veterans benefit most when medical care, behavioral healthcare, housing, benefits navigation, and community support all work toward a common goal. As community-based care grows, providers who can navigate both the VA and community systems represent the future of veteran care - and that is exactly where Bold Steps has chosen to invest.
